Here at Think B4 You Ink, we offer inked clients the chance to turn back time, in a sense, by providing a tattoo removal service. Tattoo removal involves a kind of laser which fires intense pulses of light. These travel through the skin to break the ink into minute particles, which the body’s immune system helpfully flushes away so you can enjoy your cleared skin. Here we are shining light on some of the most common tattoo removal questions.
Can you remove coloured tattoos?
Here at Think B4 You Ink, we are able to remove coloured tattoos, though we have previously written about coloured ink removal, as some colours are easier to remove than others. Whilst some tattoos treated are able to completely disappear, no reputable company within the industry can promise 100% removal of the tattoo. Instead, you can expect to see around 95% of the ink removed, with the possibility of some blemishes to the skin.
How many sessions does it take to remove a tattoo?
Whilst we are unable to put a definitive number on the amount of sessions it takes to remove a tattoo, we will be able to discuss this with each client on an individual basis, where we can give an approximate number of treatment sessions. This number will depend on different aspects of your tattoo, including the kind of ink used, the colours, and so on.
Can you remove ink from dark skin?
Tattoo removal works best on lighter skin, so if your skin is dark we are only able to remove black ink tattoos. Brighter coloured tattoos would require a wavelength which would impact on your pigmentation and produce undesirable results.
What else can I expect from the treatment?
Each treatment session should be completed quite efficiently, as a whole tattoo sleeve can be treated in under 45 minutes, so a very small tattoo may be treated in just a few minutes. As you may expect, those with different colours will take longer as we will need to adjust the settings for each colour accordingly. You can expect some pain during the treatment session, but if you were able to get tattooed in the first place, this shouldn’t be too much to endure.
